Scott Petri taught social studies at the middle and high school level for more than 20 years. He is a co-author of The EduProtocols Field Guide: Social Studies Edition. Scott manages Program Partnerships for the Bill of Rights Institute. He is also the President-Elect of the California Council for the Social Studies (CCSS) and served as past president of the Southern California Social Studies Association. He was named Outstanding High School Social Studies Teacher of the Year by CCSS in 2021 and was a 2023-24 PBS Invention Ed Fellow.
